these look like awesome shaders.

I was checking out the article on the “Silent Man” portrait from CGArena. It’s pretty incredible how good this piece is - and the amazing thing is, no GI, no HDRI, just a good light setup and really great textures (the model is also excellent).

I’m in the process of creating a good skin shader, and since I can’t purchase VREEL until December, I’m going to try this article from Computer Arts on a realistic skin shader (with SSS).

I also need to throw some clothes on my model, and was going to give this tut from Tutorials 2.0 a go on simple clothing with clothide.

I just stumbled on this great resource page - Spotlights - on Maxon’s site - which features new articles, tutorials, et al for C4D. I’m pretty psyched about this.
